Mission

Electro Lab is passionate about getting creative with technology in music. Our mission is to deliver cutting edge educational tools to inspire millions to learn a musical instrument in a fun and creative way.

Goals

We aim to make live electronic music in combination with a musical instrument accessible to everyone. After several years of research, creating and testing, Electro Lab is soon to be launched in late 2019, it is not only easy to use, adaptable and portable but affordable too!

We are currently working on releasing our next test version, which will be a small glimpse of our final version. Very soon the test version will be available in the app store free for anybody to use, on an iPad. We hope you will enjoy trying it out but most importantly tell us what you think, so that we can finish creating our final version.

History

During my studies in the UK at Birmingham Conservatoire I enjoyed immersing myself in so many aspects of music making and, alongside this, developed my teaching portfolio with the Birmingham music service. At the end of my studies I felt two aspects were missing from my musical life and career. Firstly, I felt a lack of satisfaction with how we inspire youngsters to learn in regards to the modern technology driven world they live in, and secondly a longing urge to understand fully how to use live electronics in my performance, which up until that point still remained a mystery to me.

At this point I made a move to Amsterdam to further explore myself as a recorder player and live electronic performer. I realised that there could be an important link between the world of live electronics and the world of teaching, and decided to focus my Master research at the Amsterdam Conservatory on creating a method on how to implement live electronics in instrumental music teaching for beginners aged between 6-11.  This was the beginning of Electro Lab!
